It Is Our Desire for Every Soul To Catch On Fire!

Don’ t Mess With Mother Nature!
Hurricanes shows us that God is still in control. Our bus shed was no match for Hurricane Irma.
The Fervent Prayer
The word " fervent " means to have intense feeling and enthusiasm for something. We come across this word in the book of James, when the writer uses it in the context of effective prayer- " The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”( James 5:16).
James is making the point that praying with passion and intensity is an important part of seeing our prayers answered- we are not to just simply go through the motions of prayer. It should also be noted that this is not the only element- for it is the prayers of a righteous person that are effective.
God doesn ' t give you the people you want. He gives you the people you need. To help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you and to make you the person you were meant to be.
The Obstacle In Our Path
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king’ s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his vegetables and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.
The peasant learned what many of us never understand. Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.
In the previous sentence James has urged the believers to confess their sins to each other“ so that you can live together whole and healed.” James( 5:16). So being open about our weaknesses with one another and God will have an influence on how effective our prayer life will be.
With this being said, you don’ t have to wait until Sunday Morning to have the Pastor pray for your needs. There are other times that the righteous can pray with you. Wednesdays Noon Day Prayer, led by Prayer Warrior Sis. Johnnie Riley, can pray with you and be an intercessor with the Lord. Tuesday Nights is another time the righteous can pray with you. You can also pray for yourself. So don’ t think Sundays are the only time your prayers are heard.
