DIVISION 2. TECHNICAL STAFF
SECTION 5.0.2.1
CONSTITUTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Chief, BFP, shall constitute a technical staff of highly qualified persons
who are knowledgeable on fire prevention, fire safety, and fire suppression.
SECTION 5.0.2.2
SOURCES
The Technical staff may be drawn from the following:
A. Organic members of the BFP;
B. Other government offices and agencies; and
C. Other sources.
In the case of paragraph “B” and/or “C” above, members may either be
appointed into the service or hired as consultants in accordance with existing
laws, rules and regulations.
SECTION 5.0.2.3
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
The Technical Staff shall:
A. Study, review and evaluate latest developments and standards on fire
safety, prevention and suppression;
B. Prepare plans/programs on fire safety, prevention and suppression and
evaluate implementation thereof;
C. Develop programs on the professionalization of the fire service;
D. Coordinate with appropriate government and private institutions for the
offering of college courses on fire technology and fire protection
engineering;
E. Propose amendments to the Fire Code and this IRR;
F. Advise the Chief, BFP on any matter brought to his attention; and
G. Perform such other functions as directed by the Chief, BFP.
SECTION 5.0.2.4
REMUNERATION
Remuneration for the members of the Technical Staff shall be prescribed by
the Chief, BFP in accordance with existing government accounting and
auditing rules and regulations.
