The investment was approved and undertaken by the Board of Directors to give us the ability to manufacture in excess of 200 tonnes of steel per week to meet increasing demand as the customer base grows . In July 2011 , Finley Structures launched its very first quarterly newsletter , keeping employees , clients and potential new client ’ s up-to-speed on all its projects and news .

‘ Hitachi MP ’ drops in !

● Phil on his tour of our factory
Welcome to our latest edition of the Finley Structures company newsletter . As usual , there ’ s a load to tell you about ! We were recently visited by Phil Wilson MP , the man who led the successful campaign to bring Hitachi Rail Europe ’ s Intercity Express Programme to Newton Aycliffe , and he took a great deal of interest in the work we do and the state-of-the-art machinery we have on site . Phil is the Labour Member of Parliament for Sedgefield , a constituency which covers Aycliffe , and as Phil knows , the proposed Hitachi factory , at Amazon Park , is less than a mile away from us ! I first met Phil through Newton Aycliffe Football Club . We ’ re big supporters of the town ’ s football club , having erected a new stand at their Moore Lane Park ground last year . I continue to keep close tabs on how they ’ re doing in the Northern League first division and I ’ m doing what I can to help them get new advertising and sponsorship by putting them in touch with other local businesses .
Phil recently became Aycliffe ’ s new President and we ’ ve met at Moore Lane Park a couple of times before , so it was great to welcome him to Finley Structures and show him around . He ’ s a great ambassador for the town and deserves a lot of credit for the work he did in helping to bring Hitachi to Aycliffe . Other news includes the recruitment of more staff since our last newsletter and our sister company , SCH Site Services , is now firmly established and beginning to grow at a rapid pace . There are other exciting developments for the company , including our investment in two new sites on Aycliffe Business Park , one of which is the old Presswork Metals unit , and as usual our projects section shows you some of the weird and wonderful contracts we ’ ve been working on recently . So it ’ s all good news – we ’ re moving forward as a company , continuing to build and we ’ re looking forward to a strong future . Regards John Finley Managing Director
