About us ...

Welcome

Finley Structures Limited was formed in August 2000 and is a family owned company providing structural steelwork to the construction industry . Their premises are based on the Newton Aycliffe Business Park , in County Durham , providing a central location and flexibility to supply the whole of the UK . Whilst providing a wide range of structural solutions , the company specialises in the production of portals , trusses , beams and columns . Finley Structures Limited is determined to ensure that customers ' requirements are met at all times with quality and cost being at the forefront . As a team we ensure that delivery is timely and strive to achieve a first class reputation and be at the leading edge within the construction industry . We are continuously investing to ensure we have the latest technology and software . More than £ 1m was invested in its production facility in 2008 , with a second saw and drill line and robotic coping line as well as an SA2.5 shot blast facility . The investment was approved and undertaken by the Board of Directors to give us the ability to manufacture in excess of 200 tonnes of steel per week to meet increasing demand as the customer base grows . In July 2011 , Finley Structures launched its very first quarterly newsletter , keeping employees , clients and potential new client ’ s up-to-speed on all its projects and news .

We ’ re as STRONG as ever !

Welcome to our second quarterly newsletter , keeping you up-to-date on everything about Finley Structures . It ’ s been a hectic few months for the company and we continue to build on our recent success with a string of contract wins and positive developments . There ’ s lots of good news stories to tell you about in this issue – we ’ ve struggled to cram it all in ! The most recent development of our sister company , SCH Site Services , is a new 39,000 sq ft unit adjacent to the Finley Structures premises on Aycliffe Business Park . SCH Site Services is a stand-alone company which works alongside Finley Structures , focusing on secondary steelwork packages . The new site is a £ 500,000 investment which will create at least 10 new jobs , boosting SCH ’ s current 27-strong workforce , on top of the 51 Finley Structures employees . We have developed the secondary steel work side of our operations in recent months and this new site is a natural progression for SCH . It makes sense to segregate the secondary steel work into the new premises in order to maintain our specialised workforce in the separate areas of the business . SCH Site Services will be looking to employ Contract Managers , Welders , Platers and
Labourers at the new facility . Finley Structures have just recently completed a 300-tonne project at Sunderland Software Centre ( working for BAM ), as well as an 800- tonne construction for a new car plant site near Stockton on Teesside . We ’ ve won praise from Sir Robert McAlpine for a construction we completed for them at Walker Technology College , and we ’ re currently working on jobs at North Shields Metro Station for May Gurney Rail Services Limited , Hebburn Primary School for Carillion Building and Central Walker Primary School in Newcastle , another one for McAlpine . So , all-in-all , we currently remain in a very strong position within the industry and , hopefully , we ’ ll see positive results from our ongoing investments to develop the business over the coming months and years . I hope you enjoy our autumn 2011 issue of our company newsletter . Regards John Finley Managing Director
