WELCOME

WE ’ RE WINNING MORE CONTRACTS FURTHER AFIELD IN ANOTHER STRONG YEAR

Welcome to the Finley Structures newsletter for Spring 2016 .

As many of you will have read in the

media last year , 2015 marked a new record turnover for the company – up £ 3.1m to £ 16.4m for the end of the 2014-15 financial year . During that time , we ’ ve also taken on eight new employees – boosting staff numbers to 68 – while working on high-profile contracts across the region . We continue to work on a major project at the Victoria Gate shopping centre in Leeds and last year we also completed a 500-tonne project for Teesside University and a 620-tonne contract for the University of Sheffield ’ s Advanced Manufacturing and Research Centre ( AMRC ) as well as a number of new build schools for Galliford Try . We ’ ve also worked on a 270-tonne project for Interserve at York University ’ s Biomed Building , a 600-tonne contract at Navigation Park in Enfield for A & H Construction , a 430-tonne job for Sir Robert McAlpine at Workington Academy in Cumbria and a 260-tonne project for Willmott Dixon , constructing the steel for a new University Technical College in Scarborough . More recently , we have won three major new contracts which are currently on site .
They include a 600-tonne project for McLaughlin & Harvey at Heathrow Airport , a 500-tonne project for BAM at the University of Lincoln and a 1,900-tonne contract for C Spencer at the Energy Works site in Hull . It comes as our sister company , nearby SCH Site Services which employs 36 people , continues to perform strongly , while we also launched the ROF 59 activity centre last year . It has been another strong year , but of course the construction industry continues to have its challenges . In the last year we ’ ve also had the introduction of work-placed pensions to take care of , so all these issues need to be accounted for at the end of the 2015-16 financial year in March . There ’ s a lot going on and we ’ re now working on more and more contracts outside of the North-East region . I hope you enjoy this Spring 2016 issue of the Finley Structures newsletter , and we look forward to bringing you more news later in the year . Regards
