Their premises are based on the Newton Aycliffe Business Park , in County Durham , providing a central location and flexibility to supply the whole of the UK . Whilst providing a wide range of structural solutions , the company specialises in the production of portals , trusses , beams and columns . Finley Structures Limited is determined to ensure that customers ' requirements are met at all times with quality and cost being at the forefront . As a team we ensure that delivery is timely and strive to achieve a first class reputation and be at the leading edge within the construction industry . We are continuously investing to ensure we have the latest technology and software . More than £ 1m was invested in its production facility in 2008 , with a second saw and drill line and robotic coping line as well as an SA2.5 shot blast facility . The investment was approved and undertaken by the Board of Directors to give us the ability to manufacture in excess of 200 tonnes of steel per week to meet increasing demand as the customer base grows . In July 2011 , Finley Structures launched its very first quarterly newsletter , keeping employees , clients and potential new client ’ s up-to-speed on all its projects and news .

Welcome

We ’ re very much on the up !

Welcome to our very first quarterly newsletter which contains lots of up-to-date news about Finley Structures . The aim of our newsletter is to not only keep all our clients and employees updated on the development of our company , but it is also to showcase the wide range of talents and services that we offer . At the beginning of the recession , like so many rival firms , Finley Structures suffered a little . However , the Company has continued to be successful since the project came back on line , and are now in a strong position within the industry . Orders have picked up and in recent months we ’ ve secured prestigious contracts to supply such as Nissan , car parts supplier Nifco and Sunderland Software Centre . All our recent and current projects are included later in the newsletter . I ' d be lying if I said the recession wasn ' t a worrying time for everyone . We dropped from having 65 to about 50 staff and now employ 75 . The investment in the factory has made us a more competitive force in the long run resulting in us going for contracts that we may not have got in the past . Bids have to be keenly priced because it ' s a very competitive market , the margins are tight , but the key thing is that we are on an upward curve . We are winning business because I ' d like to think we give our customers great service and the best quality . It is also important that we employ our own steel erectors , we have our own cranes , so that makes us self-contained , whereas most other fabricators sub-let . We can do everything . Our base , in Newton Aycliffe , County Durham , is also the perfect location for our business . You can draw on a good workforce from the surrounding towns like Shildon , Spennymoor , Bishop Auckland and Sedgefield . Road and rail links are also perfect , we have Durham Tees Valley Airport on the doorstep so keeping that all important face-to-face contact with our clients is pretty straightforward . We have faced a really hard spell , but we fought back and are now starting to get the rewards . I hope you enjoy our maiden newsletter , and enjoy reading about the continued development of Finley Structures . John Finley Managing Director
