PEAK SNEAKS
If you meander a little ways up Carroll Street from the creek in downtown, you’ll stumble upon a
unique shoe store called Peak Sneaks. We certainly never heard of a place where you could buy,
sell, and trade your new and used sneakers before, but we were so glad to have poked our heads
in! Their store is a rainbow of colors; with sneakers covering their walls and even hanging from
their ceiling! They have an incredible collection of brand-new sneakers, all pristinely wrapped, and a
separate room full of gently used sneakers, most of them collectibles and rare shoes.
In addition to sneakers, they also have a selection of specialty clothing, autographed merchandise
and other basketball memorabilia. However, the focal point of the store, we thought, was their Key
Master arcade game where you could WIN sneakers! (Apparently, when we visited, nine people had
already won a pair of sneakers from the game.)
If you don’t see what you want, or you want a sweet pair of PUMPS, they can order sneakers for
you too! Don’t worry, we already asked if they could order heelys for adults, and they definitely can.
So, if you see a brigade of ridiculously happy ladies rolling up Market Street, you’ll know where they
got those sweet kicks.
