COLLATERAL
DAMAGE
PROJECT:
In his years as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Tim Barclay
has seen the effects of post traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD) in post 9/11 military veterans.
These individuals experience increased irritability,
aggression, changes in personality, social withdrawal
and, worst case scenario, they distance themselves
from their loved ones. “They don’t know how to connect
emotionally anymore which further causes anger,”
Barclay explained, “It can turn into domestic violence...
breaks families up…[and] renders many people
incapable of engaging in the workforce which requires
them to be on disability. It wreaks havoc in their lives.”
