Objectives and strategy Accord’s objectives and strategy are set out in the strategic five year Business Plan that is reviewed annually and approved by the Board of Management. The Board is responsible for the overall management of the Association, including the monitoring of performance of all its functions, the determination of strategic direction and policies, implementing and overseeing control, governance and risk management frameworks and determination of resources to meet the Association’s financial and other obligations. The organisation’s main objectives and strategies taken from the Business Plan 2018-2023, are summarised in the following table: STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE MEETING NEED GREAT HOUSING AND SERVICES 14,000 homes in management including the development of over 1,400 affordable, high quality homes (by 2020) By 2020, achieve £150m turnover and surplus of at least £12m p.a. to plough back into our work to support those most in need Develop and establish a person- centred approach to housing, assets, care and community services to create efficiency and improve satisfaction Increase the number of homes manufactured at Accord’s LoCaL Homes factory and sale of products to external partners Procurement and other efficiency programmes to address rent reduction and other demands to reinvest into core purpose Continued implementation of the strategic stock investment and disposal process consisting of units of new development for sale and existing stock disposals Further improve the quality, value and range of Health and Social Care services Reduce office / commercial building costs and other associated overheads by 20% in order to invest in new services for customers Combine the direct labour teams across the organisation and develop a competitive and efficient in-house maintenance team Create volunteering, apprenticeship and employment opportunities for customers, their families and local community members.
