7.3 Job Vacancy Profile
There were 1,558 full-time vacancies available within the surveyed establishments as of Dec
2017. The overall vacancy rate of the PSA industry is 22%, with Legal and Management
Consultancy & Market Research sectors having the highest vacancy rate of about 30%.
Most of the job vacancies across all the sectors are for skilled jobs, except for the Legal sector
which has a higher proportion of vacancies for semi-skilled positions. Majority of these
vacancies are within the professional job category, whereby Science and Engineering Associate
Professionals account for the highest proportion of the vacancies, followed by Science and
Engineering Professionals and Business and Administration Professionals.
About half of the job categories within the industry have relatively high ratio of vacancies to
total workforce needs in comparison of the sector average. Legal Professionals have the highest
vacancy rate of 35%.
