7.2 Current Workforce Profile
Based on the 432 establishments which participated in the study, the distribution of workforce
is examined in this section. The surveyed companies have around 6,372 workforces as of Dec
2017. 92% (5,893) of these jobs are filled by establishments’ own employees whereas the other
8% (479) are fulfilled by outsourced workers.

Outsourced Professionals
The total workforce has increased by 6% between Dec 2016 to Dec 2017. Scientific R&D and
Technical Testing & Analysis has seen the highest growth in the number of employment,
followed by Accounting. Although over 90% of the total jobs are fulfilled by the
establishments’ own employees, the growth of outsourced professionals is double compared to
the growth of employees. A total of 479 outsourced professionals are reported across all sectors
with Management Consultancy & Market Research, Advertising and Engineering
establishments having the highest proportion of outsourced professionals.
