5.3.3 Cleaning of Database & Filling in Information Gaps
Once all the lists of establishments were merged, the database was checked and cleaned, which
included identifying the sub-sector of all establishments, removal of duplicate entries and
establishments not within the identified sub-sectors, and filling in the information gaps. This
was done with assistance from relevant government agencies and industry associations
supported by secondary research. Besides that, the establishments were reached out through
phone calls to clarify their main business activity for sub-sector classification, to identify their
employment size and to obtain the contact details of the right target respondents for the
quantitative survey.
5.3.4 Survey Sampling & Methodology
The establishments were stratified based on their sub-sector, employment size and location of
main business activity. The selected sub-sectors were mapped to MSIC 2008 code to facilitate
long term growth tracking and policy making (where necessary) for these sub-sectors.
The study covered the following sub-sectors: -

• Land & Quantity Surveying,
• Accounting,
• Legal,
• Advertising,
• Management Consultancy & Market Research,
• Veterinary,
• Scientific Research & Development and Technical Testing & Analysis, and
• Other Professional Activities
