IMPACT Undertake more initiatives and engagement sessions with SMEs to raise awareness on the availability of schemes and assistance programmes to support their expansion into overseas markets. • Initiative 4.2 • E.g. MATRADE provides various form of support to facilitate the development of the export sector Industry through funding opportunities, consultation, market research, export promotion, etc. Some of Associations, these initiatives include the Services Export Fund, SME Corp, Mid-Tier Companies Development Programme, MATRADE GoEx and Malaysia Services e-Directory (MSeD). H H M H Industry associations should play an active role in encouraging companies to boost their engagements with agencies such as MATRADE and utilise the financial assistances to help their export business. Develop more programmes/platforms which encourage partnership between large corporations and SMEs. Through these platforms, large corporates can play a role in role in helping and mentoring SMEs in the export market through their supply chains or guidance. Example Industry Large Corporation-SME Partnership Programme by Associations, Initiative MATRADE aims to increase the number of SME Corp, 4.3 partnerships between large corporations and SMEs for MATRADE international projects by way of procurement of the SME’s services by the large corporations.
