A higher adoption of outsourcing for business process/task or engaged outsourced workers for their
daily operations was seen in the establishments within the Manufacturing sector (16%), followed by
Information & Communication and Administration & Support Service sectors at 11% and 10%
respectively. On the contrary, only a minimal number of establishments from Water Supply, Sewerage,
Waste Management & Remediation and Other Service sectors outsourced their business process or task
or engaged outsourced workers.
For every 100 employees employed by the establishments in NER 2018, there were 3 outsourced
workers. Mining & Quarrying sector reported the highest ratio of outsourced workers to the overall
workforce within the sector, followed by Manufacturing and Administrative & Support Service sectors.
