Overall I am pleased with the outcome of the project, I think all my work is of a high standard. Although, I look forward to receiving feedback on what I could improve upon going forward.

When I wrote the timetable on the INP, I was worried that I would not be able to complete all of the work in time as I believe I set a lot for myself. However, I was able to finish everything I wished, which pleased me. I really enjoyed deciding how to promote the brand on and offline, looking at all the different methods was interesting. I also enjoyed accomplishing the range plan. Although I thought I would struggle with the maths, once I got the hang of it, it went well. I liked doing the comparative shop report as I didn’t realise how similar other brands were to Paul Smith. I struggled coming up with ideas for the promotional video, it took me a lot longer than I anticipated. In fact, at times I almost gave up. I am glad I didn’t. I also found writing the press release hard because I did not know what to include, but with the lecturer’s guidance I eventually understood it. It was somewhat limiting coming up with a British designer and celebrity to use for my collaboration. It would have been a lot easier if they were international but I enjoyed the challenge of working to a brief.

I didn’t use my INP time table enough, I just did the work as I went along. This confused me, as I was unsure what work had been completed. Next time I will, as it will help me stay more organised and on top of my work. Although I was able to complete it, I often forgot the work I had set myself in the beginning. So, I used my smart targets to keep to the deadlines and to ensure I completed the project on the time.

As time went on, I became less keen on my idea of Paul Smith X Harry Styles and didn’t think it would be that successful. Although Harry’s clothing is often mentioned in the press, he has never had any notable relations within the fashion industry before. As well, Paul’s core audience will probably not relate to Harry or any other celebrity. Women and young girls are more likely to get excited about a collaboration then men. Furthermore, I would have liked to have done the collaboration gender-less or for both men and women as Paul Smith offers men’s and womenswear

I am very pleased with the work I have created though, I put in so much effort to get it all completed! I am also proud of the promotional magazine and the website that I created. The magazine, in my opinion, displays a clear collaboration between brand and collaborator and has a similar layout to a real one. While the website is very realistic and formative. I did work really hard and stayed motivated throughout. However, sometimes in class I would get easily distracted. Therefore, next year I am going to remain very concentrated and save the chatting for the breaks. I will also follow my plans so I can ensure I complete all the work.
