Critical and contextual introduction-
Within recent years Men’s fashion has come to the forefront of the industry with
more flamboyant clothing designs and accessories dominating our front pages
than ever before, thus influencing an onslaught of new brands to begin, thanks to
the new ‘no rules’ fashion industry!
The British countryside hosts an array of silhouettes all giving off a very classic
aesthetic in comparison to the London’s underground streetwear scene which is
purely based on individuality.
The recent appointment of Virgil Abloh as the new Artistic director at Louis
Vuitton has turned the fashion industry on its head with a move like this never
seen before. Louis Vuitton is one of the most recognisable French fashion houses
and hiring a streetwear phenomenon only a couple of years ago would have
been unheard of.
Perry as a brand has an individual concept for the products in which will be sold,
collaborating these two styles links in with current trends within the fashion
industry and will appeal to a large demographic.
A key challenge for the brand is that the market in which Perry would be
entering is very competitive, with many individuals now deciding to set up their
own brands making it even harder to standout. However having the opportunity
to create a brand showcasing a fusion of two styles is something that may attract
individuals looking for something new to help them standout from the crowd.
