Campus Highlights
Selma Herndon Elementary
Promoting Pawsitive Character through Art and Technology
The Stop Motion Animation Club (SMAC) have been learning different techniques about the
use of Green Screen and Movie Making apps. Using technology devices and visual art, students
plan and write a short script using tools to assemble sets with figures like Legos, dolls and clay.
Small student groups create videos that promote the character building concepts and the Six
Pillars of Character Education (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and
Citizenship). At Selma Herndon, students are given opportunities to put into action their
learning and how to promote “Pawsitive Attitudes = Pawsitive Actions”.
Promoviendo el carácter positivo a través del arte y la tecnología
El Club SMAC ha estado aprendiendo diferentes técnicas sobre el uso de apps para hacer películas. Con el uso de tecnología y
artes visuales, los estudiantes crean videos con figuras como Legos, muñecas y arcilla. Los videos promueven conceptos de carácter
positivo e integran los seis pilares de la educación del carácter. Los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de poner en práctica su
aprendizaje y como promover “Actitudes Positivas = Acciones Positivas”.
Campus Park Elementary
We are on a Mission to get Every Student to Read at Grade Level
Teachers at Campus Park have been participating in weekly learning sessions around literacy with a
focus on gaining a deeper understanding on how to help students continue to make progress in
reading. Literacy is promoted throughout the school by opening the library during
lunch and an after-school reading club. We believe that by helping students read
better, will give them better access to the curriculum and improve the skills they
need to propel them to greater success. We want students to “Take Flight and Soar
to New Heights, Above and Beyond”. At Campus Park, we educate the whole
student, “Mind, Body and Soul!”
Tenemos una misión de que cada estudiante lea a nivel de grado
Los maestros de Campus Park han estado participando en lecciones sobre la alfabetización con un enfoque en lograr una
comprensión más profunda sobre cómo ayudar a los estudiantes a continuar progresando en la lectura. La alfabetización se
promueve en toda la escuela al tener acceso a la biblioteca durante el almuerzo y después de la escuela. Creemos que, al ayudar
a los estudiantes a leer mejor, les daremos un mejor acceso al currículo y mejoraremos las habilidades que necesitan para llevarlos
a un mejor éxito. Queremos que los estudiantes “Tomen Vuelo y se Eleven a Nuevas Alturas, Por Encima y Mas Allá”. En Campus
Park educamos al estudiante entero, “Mente, Cuerpo y Alma”.
