Brief Description
the budget at their maximum potential ( as opposed to set rates and co-contribution ratios ).
Co-funded producer demonstration sites ( Targeted )
These projects were co funded through LDC and Meat & Livestock Australia ( MLA ) as producer demonstration sites . Specific topics were offered , regenerative agriculture and weed eradication .
Ongoing incentive opportunity ( Opt In )
These projects followed traditional water quality grant opportunities with public and private ratios for landholder co-investment , fixed rates and alignment to P2R practice change . Application period stayed open throughout the LDC .
Non grazing landholder trials ( Targeted )
Provided specifically for non-grazing landholders this was a unique offering to test and trial monitoring to improve knowledge and may lead to sediment savings .
* Time displayed is window of opportunity for landholders to apply under each approach ( unless otherwise stated , completion timeframes were required within 12 months of contract signing ).
Many of the listed approaches were offered simultaneously by the LDC Project . Of the nine different approaches offered , five were opt-in ( landholders put their hand up to take part ), three were targeted ( the LDC team approached landholders based on simple suitability criteria ) and one was an innovative opt-out style ( offered to all landholders unless they refused ). This latter approach was innovative as opportunities funded and offered to an entire catchment were rare . With the exception of the Exploring New Incentives projects , involvement in one type of incentive did not exclude landholders being involved in another type of incentive , with many landholders taking part in more than one offering .
