Praised as“ thrilling,”“ world-class,” and“ inspirational,” Portuguese-American conductor and producer Jacomo Bairos is redefining the modern orchestral experience with visionary programming and cross-genre collaborations. He is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Miami’ s Nu Deco Ensemble, hailed by The New York Times as“ an orchestra for the 21st century,” where he has worked with artists including Wyclef Jean, Angélique Kidjo, Jacob Collier, PJ Morton, and Robert Glasper, while commissioning works from composers such as Kishi Bashi and Valerie Coleman. Bairos has appeared with leading orchestras worldwide, including the San Francisco, Detroit, Atlanta, Baltimore, Singapore, and Houston Symphonies, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the Boston and Cincinnati Pops. His discography features acclaimed albums with Nu Deco, the Iceland Symphony, and Europe’ s Metropole Orkest.
A Juilliard-trained tuba player and dedicated educator, Bairos integrates wellness and mindfulness into his work with young musicians. He divides his time between Miami Beach and Lisbon.
