PIVOTING DURING COVID-19
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , CIIP 2020 was canceled . Twenty students deferred their CIIP participation to the Spring 2021 semester , choosing to participate in the firstever CIIP Spring Alternative Program . The Spring Alternative Program cohort worked virtually with a variety of organizations throughout Baltimore .
Twenty-six students originally chosen for CIIP 2020 chose to defer for an additional summer . The CSC selected additional members to complete the 2021 cohort with 48 students in total . Due to the gradual easing of COVID-19 restrictions , we were able to successfully coordinate hybrid and in-person programming for our cohort . Weekly Bites of Baltimore sessions took place in hybrid format for the first time , joining in-person and virtual participants for social issue trainings and reflection .
