Key Stage 4( Year 10 & 11) Film & Media Production
At Key Stage 4 you will study the UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology( Film & Media Production)( equivalent to 4 GCSEs):
Understand and embrace the processes behind producing media content Learn and engage in creative idea development Develop practical skills in both Filmmaking and Broadcast Experiment with Digital Content Creation Develop an understanding of Costume & Production Design
Post 16( Year 12 & 13) Film & Media Production
At Post 16 you will study the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology( Film & Media Production)( equivalent to 3 A Levels):
Create original content across a variety of industry-standard formats, including music videos, short films, documentaries, photography and more
Build a strong theoretical foundation by exploring key concepts, critical perspectives, and media terminology
Collaborate on live productions for both television and radio, giving hands-on experience in broadcast environments
Take part in a four-day, on-location film shoot, working as part of a crew to produce a fully realised short film
Access work placement opportunities with professional media companies across a range of live and recorded productions
Industry Opportunities
Using industry standard hardware, including a range of cameras and our own Radio and TV Studio( sponsored by YouTube Music), BRIT Live is the department’ s very own magazine style show that is broadcast termly via YouTube. We celebrate the success of all of our students through the department’ s annual award showcase held at cinemas including BFI Southbank, Prince Charles Cinema or the Ritzy Picturehouse in Brixton.
If you are applying to join the Post 16 course you will need to submit a digital portfolio once you have been shortlisted to interview.
