“No, the Varshita character simply evolved and we were fortunate enough to get a spin off show based on her character.” Eve. Well, that was definitely a first in Kenya because no other show has been spun off an existing character. “Unless you know of any other programme, Varshita is the first spin-off series we have had in Kenya! From her character in Auntie Boss to her own show. If not for anything else, you got to applaud Eve D’Souza for that milestone. I only see and hear of spin-offs in Hollywood...and on the same network I might add.” Fellow actor Gerald Langiri mentioned. celebrities, most of who she invites as guests to the “Auntie Boss” and “Varshita” episodes in the quest to improve the show ratings. When she started out on “Auntie Boss”, did she have another separate show in mind? In appreciation for the accolades and acknowledgment by fellow greats in the production world, Eve said: “It is so rare to get encouragement from industry greats and (Gerald) you have just motivated me to do better. The truth is I am very lucky to work with an amazing pool of local talent, every day is a learning experience for me.” Having seen many characters star in the show, Eve affirms that: “Lucy and I try as much as possible to keep the show fresh and interesting. This has largely to do with characters and their storylines. When we feel we have exhausted a particular character we try create new ones. It has worked great so far!” she said.” Well, congratulations to Eve, her transition from radio, television to production and acting is commendable.
