Tausi star Ken Ambani
set for continental award

Kenyan actor Kenneth Ambani is set to contest in this
year’s African Prestigious Awards, a continental fete for
actors and actresses who have made it on theatre, TV
and film.
Ambani will be contesting to become the Male Movie
Star of the Year in the award ceremony that will take
place in Accra, Ghana, on March 24, 2018.
Ambani is popularly known as Baraza, a name he
acquired for the role he played in Tausi. Apart from
Tausi, he has featured in plays and movies such as
Tushauriane, Wingu la Moto, Makutano Junction,
Shuga, Mali, Siri, Saints, Dilema, Binti Nusa, Kisasi,
Naliaka is Going, Cobra Squad, Twisted and Noose of
Gold.
While in form three, he did a South African play My
People and Chains at Chandaria Hall in Mombasa
consequently winning the Best Actor’s Award at
national level.
His first TV gig was a minor role in Tushauriane, a
local play in KBC. He started a play with friends, Fate
Makers, which was the first ever English play which ran
for 13 episodes.

According to EAD Group of Companies who are organisers
of the African Prestigious Awards, the awards are set to help
honour and also motivate both individuals and countries on
the continent to rise and help build the continent.
“The African Prestigious Awards is all about achievers,
super achievers and future leaders. This glamorous event
will attract the best of the best from Africa. The event will
highlight, recognise and reward all the ability to steer their
educational values, businesses and other projects through
turbulent times, applying the best of business modules
to manage and keep their missions afloat,” stated the
organisers.
Ambani will be going head on against other top actors in
the African continent.
Voting will close on February 28 to give way for the Grand
event on March 24.
