WARD LENTZ I’m Ward Lentz, infantry officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. Why did you join Fight for Charity? I am always looking for a new fitness challenge to participate in. The Fight for Charity was ideal as I have been a Big Brother for two years; prior to that, I was a Little Brother. I believe in the value of the program and want to encourage more people to participate. What is your biggest accomplishment? I got to meet Nelson Mandela once. What would people be most surprised to learn about you? I enjoy participating in triathlons and long-distance races. I competed in the Mountain Man last year, an annual race of over 42 km. What is your history with boxing? I have done a small amount of boxing training before, but I have never competed in martial arts. Once my fight is done, I’d like: To start training for the Mountain Man race. Favourite TV show: Right now Game of Thrones, of course. Favourite movie: Children of Men Favourite sport: It’s been boxing for three months now. Favourite quote: “Life is risk.” Favourite travel destination: New Orleans Who would play you in a movie? I’d play myself! www.fightforcharity.ca | 2019 Annual Fight for Charity | 53
