Fight For Charity Event Program Fight For Charity 2019 | Page 28

SEAN FAWLEY I’m Sean Fawley and I am a water treatment operator for the Utility of the RM of Whitemouth. Why did you join Fight for Charity? I had heard of it previously from my rugby club, the Assassins RFC, and was already getting into boxing with Eastman Boxing Club. So I figured it could be a great first fight and I’d be able to raise money for a good cause. What is your biggest accomplishment? I’m still alive and healthy considering everything I’ve put my body through! I fell from a four-storey building a few years ago and broke a bunch of bones. I have struggled with a few things like addictions and trouble with the law. However, I’ve been able to move forward and build a new life (with the help of my friends and family), with a new career and a wonderful girlfriend. What would people be most surprised to learn about you? I’m a big nerd who loves Lego and Star Wars. What is your history with boxing? I moved to Beausejour this past fall and I wanted to try something new. Since I was no longer able to play rugby, I figured I’d join the Eastman Boxing Club. I was just part of the rec team, but then in the new year I joined their fight team. Along with all the training with the Pan Am Boxing Club and a couple boxing sessions at the Brickhouse gym, I feel prepared for my debut fight with the Fight for Charity event. Once my fight is done, I’d like: To continue to train since I plan to have another fight June 8 in Beausejour at a boxing event put on by the Eastman Boxing Club. After that, we will have to see how the first two fights go!
