This course will introduce you on to the higher-level aspects of electrical engineering . You will take part in significant practical activities which are underpinned by a strong theoretical content that will guide you towards a career in electrical engineering . The academic level of this course is the same as year 1 at university .
Entry Requirements
One of the following :
Two Highers at Grade C or above , one of which must be Maths with the other coming from Physics or Engineering Science ( Grade D will be considered for exceptional candidates )
Foundation Apprenticeship : Engineering SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Electrical Engineering SCQF Level 6
Wind Turbine Maintenance ( Technical Knowledge ) SCQF Level 6
Another relevant course at SCQF Level 6 ( incorporating Maths : Tech 1 and 2 ) accompanied by a good academic reference recommending articulation to a higher level
HND : Electrical Engineering

This course is ideal if you are interested in progressing to university or developing a high level of knowledge and skills in the area of electrical and electronic engineering to make you work-ready for a career in this industry .
You will also have the opportunity to study additional advanced units in mathematics .
Entry Requirements
Direct entry into year 2 ( HND ) requires the full , successful completion of the related HNC with 15 SQA credits .
For applicants who do not currently have the full 15 SQA credits , please contact us at info @ fife . ac . uk for further support on the options available to you to be accepted onto this HND course .
Higher Maths at grade C or above would also be desirable

National Certificate : Engineering Systems : Performing Engineering Operations ( Level 2 via EAL )

This course will provide the underpinning knowledge to enter the renewable energy industry as a Modern Apprentice or as a trainee whilst the accompanying PEO qualification will provide the workshop / hand skills essential for a career in the renewable energy industry .
The course will run over two 18-week semesters with the National Certificate ( theory ) component delivered over 12 hours per week in class and the Performing Engineering Operators component delivered in workshop classes of minimum 12 hours per week plus self study of up to 12 hours per week .
Entry Requirements
Minimum three National 5s which must include Mathematics , and Physics or a Technical subject at Grade C or above .
It may be possible for candidates with appropriate experience ( in lieu of qualifications ) to gain entry
