This broad art portfolio course gives you an excellent grounding in the area of visual arts . If you have studied at National 4 level and wish to progress to further study , or if you have Higher results and want time to prepare a substantial portfolio for entry to art college or HN level study , this is the course for you . It is expected that on completion of this course you will progress on to National Certificate : Art and Design SCQF Level 6 .

One of the following :
Three National 4s including English and Art
Certificate : Art and Design
Another appropriate creative course at SCQF Level 4
Relevant industry experience and / or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

This course enables you to broaden and strengthen your creative ability . It provides an ideal platform for career progression in visual arts . The combination of drawing , painting , 2D and 3D design skills , and illustration will give you the opportunity to build a substantial portfolio . You will work on individual and group projects and , where possible , live briefs for real clients .

This course allows you to study a variety of creative arts including life drawing , painting , 2D and 3D design skills , printmaking , and mixed media . During the course , you will develop a substantial portfolio and also take part in an exhibition of your own work , which will all help prepare for employment or your next step to Higher Education .

Two Highers at Grade C or above , including English and Art , plus two National 4s
National Certificate : Art , and Design SCQF Level 6
National Certificate : Jewellery SCQF Level 6
Another appropriate creative course at SCQF Level 6
Mature students will be considered on an individual basis based on a portfolio of art and design work in their field of study and experience
