“ Once I ’ ve worked in the industry for some time I ’ d really like to come back to college and be a lecturer to teach the subject .”
Shaun Heath Studying for a career as a Lighting Technician
I left school when I was 15 and my first course at Fife College was a January Start course , Access to Business , Hospitality and Tourism . At the end of that year , I started my NC in Technical Theatre and I am currently studying the HND in Technical Theatre and Production Arts .
I have always had a passion for live events , especially in the music industry . When I was in S3 I started doing careers sessions where we had to research what careers we would be interested in . My interest in sound engineering and stage management led me to the Technical Theatre course at Fife College . In the future I would hope to become a fully qualified lighting technician and perhaps even a designer .
Since completing first year I have begun employment with an events company and I ’ m currently in the middle of work experience at Perth Theatre and Concert Hall as a Junior Technician .
