This course is designed to support those who wish to pursue a career within sports coaching and sports development . At the same time , many of the competences achieved will allow you to make other career decisions and follow different pathways within sport or other industries . As well as participating in the course , you will be involved in practical work with various groups / clubs in the community .
Entry Requirements
External Candidates
One of the following :
Two Highers at Grade C or above
A sport and fitness related course at SCQF Level 6
Relevant industrial experience and / or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

Pass a practical session
You will need a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland in order to go out on the placement ( s ) as part of this course
Internal Candidates
Advanced Certificate : Sport and Fitness ( with a minimum of 13 assessed credits )
You will need a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland in order to go out on the placement ( s ) as part of this course
All applicants will be invited for an interview / information session which may include a practical session .

HND : Sports Coaching and Development

Following on from the HNC : Coaching and Developing Sport , this course is designed to continue to develop and support your pursuit of a career within sports coaching and sports development . You must have passed HNC : Sports Coaching and Development in order to be enrolled on this course .
Entry Requirements
HNC : Coaching and Development of Sport ( with 15 credits )
Internal and external applicants must have achieved 15 credits with an A or B in the HNC Graded Unit
