This Skill Up course is a project based approach to learning where you will study four projects throughout the year . The project themes include Employability , Business Plan , Travel and Tourism , and Food and Drink . You will have plenty of opportunities to develop practical skills and creative thinking , working with industry partners and various local hospitality and food and drink operators .

This short full-time course is perfect if you are looking for a career in a professional kitchen or catering outlet . You will develop the skills and confidence needed for working in a professional kitchen and food service area . You will prepare , cook , and finish a wide range of foods suitable to be served to students , staff , and visitors to the campus . You will work together in a team on an event that will showcase what you have learned . This course is a hands on practical course ideal for those starting out .

Interest in the hospitality industry and cooking is required along with one of the following :

Intermediate Certificate : Bakery

In this course you will learn about craft baking , and the art of making bread and dough products , as well as gaining specialist knowledge in basic pastry and cake decoration . You will learn about food hygiene , customer care and the service of food and beverages .
This hands-on course will give you the opportunity to experience what is required for preparing , producing , promoting , and selling food products as part of an enterprise activity including running our successful in house bakery . This course includes a work placement in the local area .
