What exactly does a Quantity Surveyor do ? Quantity surveyors are the cement that holds the construction industry together . They are responsible for managing construction costs and contracts , and ensuring that projects are completed on time , within budget , and to a high quality finish .
They measure the value of a construction project , from the initial project start right up to the completion stage . They need to have an in-depth understanding of the complete construction cycle and the roles of each professional and trade required to build a successful project .
Professional membership Upon completion of your HND , you will be able to register with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors ( RICS ) and , with relevant experience , continue your professional development to acquire Associate status .
