Civil engineers deal with conceiving , designing , building , supervising , operating , constructing , and maintaining physical and naturally built environment infrastructure projects and systems in both the public and private sectors . This includes everything from roads , buildings , and airports to tunnels , dams , bridges , and systems for water supply and sewage treatment .
Professional membership While studying as a civil engineer you can apply to become a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers ( ICE ).

This course is made up of National Certificate : Civil Engineering , selected SVQ units , and an Industry Challenge Project work placement .
