This is a design course which aims to introduce you to the essential key skills required to begin a career in the design industry . You will be encouraged to develop imaginative and creative ideas while working on a series of design projects .
On this course , there is a strong emphasis on developing a wide range of technical and model making skills and techniques . You will develop freehand and technical drawing skills – including an introduction to 3D modelling computer software .

This course is about learning to understand a design brief and designing spaces and places for people , creating interior schemes , and solving problems to improve the world around us .
You will learn about the history of design and understand modern architectural influences , as well as learning 3D modelling softwares such as Vectorworks and Photoshop . It enables you to develop the creative , analytical , and technical skills needed for jobs in the interior design profession .

This course is designed to enhance the skills you have gained during the HNC and to build a portfolio suitable for university or employment . You will work with projects and live design briefs to raise the level of design work through computer-generated , handdrawn , and model making techniques .
Progression to degrees
Starting your journey with us could see you entering a university degree in years 2 or 3 . We work in partnership with Heriot-Watt University to offer progression from our HND to year 3 of BA ( Hons ) Interior Design .
