a Selección de Ecuador participará por
cuarta vez en la Copa Mundial Sub-17
de la FIFA, evento que tuvo la oportunidad
de organizar en 1995, cuando logró su mejor actuación, ubicándose en los cuartos de
final, siendo eliminada por Argentina. Solo
en 1987 no logró pasar la fase de grupos,
ya que en su última participación, en México,
se metió entre los 16 mejores, instancia de la
que se despidió a manos de Brasil.
“La Tri” llega con muchas esperanzas a
Chile, después de haber realizado un gran
torneo clasificatorio sudamericano (fue el
equipo que más puntos sumó), donde sufrió solo dos derrotas, una de ellas en el
hexagonal final, contra el campeón Brasil.
Ecuador cuenta con un entrenador como
José Javier Rodríguez, quien ya cuenta con
la experiencia de haber dirigido en el Mundial del 2011, algo que espera utilizar de
buena manera para poder convertir a su
equipo en uno de los protagonistas.

he National Team of Ecuador will participate
for the fourth time in the FIFA U-17 World
Cup event they had the opportunity to organize
in 1995, when they accomplished their Best
Performance, reaching the quarter-finals, being
eliminated by Argentina. Only in 1987 they didn´t
manage to pass the group stage, because in their
last participation in Mexico, they got among the
best 16, instance in which they were dismissed by
Brazil.
“The Tri” arrives with many hopes to Chile, after
having done a great South American qualifying
tournament (it was the team that sum up more
points), where they suffered only two defeats,
one of them in the final round, against the champion Brazil.
Ecuador has a coach like Jose Javier Rodriguez,
who already has the experience of coaching in the
2011 World Cup, something he hopes to use in
a good way to convert his squad into one of the
leading teams.

guió a su escuadra a avanzar a los octavos de final.
