CALLS FOR PROPOSALS,
NOMINATIONS, AND
APPLICATIONS
THEMATIC AND FOCUS PROGRAMS
The Fields Institute solicits proposals for a variety of
programs in areas of current research interest in the
mathematical sciences: (1) Major thematic programs,
from four to six months in length. (2) Thematic or focus
programs, from one to two months in length, to run
concurrently with major thematic programs; in particular,
two‑month summer programs of an interdisciplinary
nature. Proposals or letters of intent should be submitted
by March 15 or September 15, with a lead time of at
least two years recommended for six-month programs.
GENERAL SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES
Proposals for short scientific events in the mathematical
sciences should be submitted by October 15, February 15,
or June 15 of each year. A lead-time of at least nine (9)
months between the deadline and the proposed date of
the activity is recommended. Activities supported include
workshops, conferences, seminars, and summer schools.
OUTREACH PROPOSALS
The Fields Institute provides support for projects whose
goal is to promote mathematical culture at all levels
and bring mathematics to a wider audience. Faculty
at Fields principal sponsoring universities or affiliates
are invited to submit proposals to the Fields Outreach
Program. There are three submission deadlines each
year, October 15, February 15, or June 15. A lead-time
of at least nine (9) months between the deadline and
the proposed date of the activity is recommended.
Proposals should include a detailed description of the
proposed activity and the target audience. A budget
indicating other sources of support is also required.
