Once you have de-
termined the length needed
for the Wood Top, place a
strip or two of masking tape
across the Wood Top at the
location it will be cut. This
will help protect the fi nished
surface from the saw mar-
ring it as it is cut.
The tape also makes pencil
marks more visible.
2.3
Score the line to be cut across the grain with
a sharp razor knife and a straight edge.
This will help prevent grain tear out as the Wood Top
is cut across the grain.
2.4
Make sure
that the Wood Top
is supported so it
will not bind on the
saw blade or sag in
any way as it is cut.
Run the saw
through with the
blade cutting to
the outside of the
marked and scored
line.
