Step 2 Prelevel and Stitch Base Cabinets must be fastened to the wall plumb, level and square. They must also align in height with the Base Cabinet Index Line drawn previously on the wall. Prior to fastening Base Cabinets to the wall, or even stitching them to each other, they must be shimmed from the fl oor at their back so they will align with the Base Cabinet Index Line if they do not already. This is most important at the wall on the fl oor behind the sides of two adjacent cabinets. “Preleveling” is the process of shimming the base cabinets at their backs to the Base Cabinet Index Line prior to stitching them together at their fronts. 2.1 As a Base Cabinet is placed against the wall, confi rm that the back of the cabinet aligns with the Base Cabinet Index Line. If the back of the cabinet is in alignment with the Index Line, continue placing the next cabinet in the series. 2.2 Align the cabinet box faces fl ush as well as their top and bottom edges, and clamp them together at the top and bottom of the face. Make sure that there are no doors still mounted that will prevent an accurate alignment. ©2017 PCS Professional Cabinet Solutions. All Rights Reserved. Section 1: IMS 110 4
