Installing Base Cabinets Involves the Following:
Step 1 Prep and Place the Base Cabinets
Step 2 Prelevel and Stitch
Step 3 Calculate, Cut and Install Cleating for Under Counter Appliances
Step 4 Calculate Cut and Install Corner Filler Components
Step 5 Shim Plumb, Level and Square
Step 6 Install Blind Corner Cleating
Step 7 Install Cabinet Wall Fillers
Base, Vanity and Desk
Cabinets are basically
constructed the same
and perform the same
function. They are de-
signed to evenly carry
the weight of the counter
top and accommodate
the toes of a person
standing directly in front
of the cabinet.
These cabinets have to
carry this weight without
sagging over their life
time as well as continue
to be plumb, level and
square.
Carefully following these
procedures can ensure
the installation is beauti-
ful and lasts as long as is
expected without requir-
ing costly service calls for
broken or sagging
counter tops.
