Dealing With Adverse Conditions
If wall conditions make it diffi cult to line up the faces of the cabinet boxes , or the boxes do not plumb from the face , it may be necessary to shim the back of a single or several cabinets in order to achieve a fl ush and plumb condition .
Examine the following diagrams that show exaggerated bad wall conditions and how shims can be applied to correct the conditions .
Correcting for a “ Bowed In ” or “ Bellied ” Wall Condition

Proper shimming will allow cabinet boxes to be aligned along a flat plane and the door facia to be adjusted within acceptable tolerances
