Locating the Highpoint on the Floor
Locating the Highpoint on the Floor for a Wall
1.1
In most cases, locat-
ing the Highpoint on the fl oor is
straightforward.
Confi rm that the fl oor is free of
debris, drywall mud or anything
else that can interfere with
measuring the fl oor with a level.
Utilize a 6’ level, or a 4’ level
and a 8’ straightedge such as a
3" or 6" filler.
Measure the floor with the level
in the areas where Base or Tall
Cabinets will be placed.

Locating the Highpoint on the Floor for an Adjacent Wall
Determine the highest point on
the fl oor along each wall.
Then determine which of the
Highpoints along each wall is
the highest point overall for the
room.
This point on the fl oor will be
used to determine the Base
Cabinet Index Line.

Field Tip:
In the event of a large or
complicated layout, the fl oor
Highpoint can be located
more effectively with a Laser
Level Line Generator.
