Description: This small frog has a brown dorsum, occasionally
with a greenish tinge. It has a W-shaped mark in the scapula
region and some dark mottling. The distinctive feature of
this species is the yellow and black pattern of the groin and
hidden surfaces of the thighs and tibias. The venter is mottled
with black and white. The iris is golden with a black cross.
Similar species: Other species of Pristimantis in the area with
a mottled venter lack the yellow colouration in groin and
back legs. On some occasions large females of Pristimantis
sp1 can have a black and yellow pattern on the flanks and
groin, but they have a prominent tympanum (barely visible in
P. divnae) and the pattern does not extend to the back of the
thighs. Other species of Pristimantis with yellow colouration
on the groin and/or hidden surfaces of the hind legs lack the
mottled venter.
Habitat and ecology: This nocturnal frog inhabits terra firma
and floodplain forests in the lowlands and premontane
regions of southeast Peru. There is little information about
the ecology of this recently described species.

Descripción: Esta pequeña rana tiene un dorso marrón,
ocasionalmente con matices verdosos. Tiene una marca en
forma de W en la región de la escapula y algo de moteado
oscuro. La característica distintiva de esta especie es el
patrón amarillo y negro en la ingle y superficies ocultas de los
muslos y tibias. El viente está moteado de blanco y negro. El
iris es dorado con una cruz negra.
Especies similares: Otras especies de Pristimantis del área
con viente moteado, no tienen la coloración amarilla en la
ingle y patas traseras. En algunas ocasiones las hembras de
Pristimantis sp1 pueden tener un patrón negro y amarillo en
los flancos y en la ingle, pero tienen un tímpano prominente
(poco visible en P. divnae) y el patrón no se extiende a la
parte trasera de los muslos. Otras especies de Pristimantis
con coloración amarilla en la ingle o en la superficies ocultas
de las patas traseras no tienen un vientre moteado.
Hábitat y ecología: Esta rana nocturna habita bosques de
terra firma y de llanura de inundación en las tierras bajas y
premontanas del sudeste de Perú. Existe poca información
acerca de la ecología de esta especie recientemente descrita.
