Description: The dorsum of this small frog is tan/light
brown with small black flecks or with faint markings. In
some individuals there are faint pale dorsolateral stripes.
Ocasionally, there is a longitudinal mid-dorsal dark brown
mark. The flanks and sides of the head are usually the same
color as the dorsum but can be contrastingly darker. A white
canthal stripe is present and under the eye, above the upper
lip there are one or two white spots. The thighs are pale
orange to pale yellow and the venter is cream with some
dark flecks. The iris is pale copper.
Descripción: El dorso de esta pequeña rana es canela/marrón
claro con pequeñas motas negras. Algunos individuos
presentan bandas dorsolaterales pálidas. En ocasiones tiene
una banda longitudinal mediodorsal marrón oscuro. Los
lados de la cabeza y del cuerpo son normalmente del mismo
color que el dorso pero pueden ser contrastadamente más
oscuros. Muestra una banda cantal blanca y debajo del ojo,
sobre el labio, hay una o dos manchas blancas. Los muslos
varían de naranja pálido a amarillo pálido y el vientre es
crema con algunas motas negras. El iris es cobre pálido.
Similar species: Dendropsophus bokermanni, D. brevifrons
and D. koechlini have also white spots under the eye but they
all have black anterior and posterior surfaces of the thighs.
D. reichlei is similar but has orange hidden surfaces of the
thighs and lacks the canthal and rostral stripes. D. riveroi
lacks pale rostral and canthal stripes.
Especies similares: Dendropsophus bokermanni, D. brevifrons
y D. koechlini tienen también puntos blancos debajo del ojo,
pero todos tienen las partes anteriores y posteriores de los
muslos negras. D. reichlei es parecida pero tiene las partes
ocultas de los muslos naranjas y no tiene las bandas cantal y
rostral. D. riveroi no presenta bandas pálidas cantal o rostral.
Habitat and ecology: This nocturnal treefrog can be found
both in terra firma and seasonally flooded forest on low
vegetation, including clearings. Reproduction occurs in the
rainy season apparently in temporal ponds where females
deposit up to 250 eggs on hanging vegetation over water.
This species feeds on arthropods, especially hemipterans.

ser encontrada tanto en terra firma como en bosques
estacionalmente inundados en vegetación baja, incluyendo
en claros. La reproducción ocurre durante la estación
húmeda aparentemente en charcas temporales, donde las
hembras depositan hasta 250 huevos en vegetación sobre el
agua. Esta especie se alimenta de artrópodos, especialmente
de hemípteros.
