7-FebSt. Adaucus

Death: 304, A martyr for the faith, In 303 the emperor commanded that Adaucus' town in Phrygia be burned to the ground by Roman soldiers. Adaucus and all the other Christians in the region perished as a result.

Death: 249

Martyr of Alexandria, Egypt, She was martyred in the reign of Emperor Trajanus Decius by being dragged through the streets of Alexandria with her feet tied to a horse.

9-FebSt. Alexander

Martyr with St. Ammonius and thirty-eight other Christians.

10-FebBl. Alexander of Lugo

Death: 1645, Dominican martyr of Spain.

11-FebSt. Adolf of Osnabruck

A monk and bishop, Adolf became a canon in Cologne, Germany, but then entered the Cistercian monastery, where he became known for his piety. In 1216, he was named the bishop of Osnabrück and maintained charitable programs there, dying on June 30, 1224.

12-FebSt. Anthony Kauleas

Death: 901, Patriarch of Constantinople. He was born in 829 of Phrygian descent near Constantinople and entered a local monastery. There he became abbot until chosen as patriarch of Constantinople in 893, a successor of Photius, whose schisms he attempted to heal.

13-FebSt. Agabus

Death: 1st Century, Martyr and one of the seventy-two disciples mentioned by St. Luke. He was a Jewish convert to the faith, noted as a prophet. The martyr died for the faith in the city of Antioch.
