The Flash Fraser High School - 34270 Garfield Road. Fraser, Michigan 48026 - Special Photo Story Issue Kristen Schatow and Tia Kapintcheva (left) work on revising drafts, a process that can take up to as many as seven revision or more. The work begins with research and interviews. Josh Whipple (right) interviews the mayor of Fraser during a basketball game. Work on a story can take you to the streets or to the internet like it does for Paul Digiovanni (far right) looking for facts about his next article. The Flash Photo Story By Mr. Flanagan Flash Adviser The Flash staff is committed to creating an open forum for student expression informing and entertaining the Fraser community. Their job, as journalists, is to communicate to their readers the facts of the case, the scores of the day, the awards of the month, the stories of their lives, all sides of the issues, and, sometimes, their opinions and feeling. The dedicated journalists of The Flash do not take their responsibility lightly and attempt to execute their job with passion and a youthful exuberance that should be admired. Between homework, baby sitting, part-time jobs, soccer, band, sports, cheerleading, and family commitments, The Flash staff takes the time to produce a paper that they hope emulates, imitates and inspires Fraser Pride. This special issue of The Flash has set an additional challenge for its staff; they have to communicate and tell the story with as few words as possible. The following pages contain the photo stories created as a special project, an exercise in communication. Look closely and see what they have to say. Proofreading pages, while tedious, can apparently be rather funny. Amanda Dupure cracks up while helping Petia Kapintcheva, Kristen Schatow and Nicki Hinchman work on The Flash. The Flash Staff 2005-06: Aaron Hamel and Kyle Snarski attempt to lift the couch with our editors Kristen Schatow, Nicki Hinchman, and Alleysha Tucker seated on it. Ashley Bletch, Jerica Pitts, Petia Kapintcheva, Amanda Dupure, and Sara Zalewski add to their work while the rest of the guys; Paul Digiovanni, Art McCall, John Milby, Mr. Flanagan, Andrew Kauffman, and Bobby Druzynski wisely stay out of it. The work on the paper sometimes involves listening to music to write reviews, Ashley Bletch (above) listens to some of the latest releases for the entertainment section of the paper. The movie review team for The Flash, Snarski & Hamel (right), are never afraid to give an honest review of a movie. Once the work of news gathering is done it’s time to get the word on paper either with a pen, like Amamda Dupre (far right) or with a computer like Art McCall (below). I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire
