February 2006 Sports Coach of the Year 8 Fraser: Getting into shape By Amanda Dupure ‘07 Assistant Editor Considering inactivity is so common among teenagers, the chance to fix that up a little with a high school club is really worth it. FHS has had PHIT (physical health improvement team), a club based on athletics and exercise, for the past few years and it’s going strong with a record number of members this year. PHIT takes place on Mon days and Thursdays in the halls and outside of the high school from 2:45 to 3:45. Members of the club take part in physical activity that is beneficial for offseason athletes or for any other student that is interested in joining. In their off season, athletes tend to lighten up on the exercise routines and PHIT gives them the opportunity to voluntarily participate in after school physical activity to keep them in shape and ready for the up By Arthur McCall ‘06 Flash Staff Reporter The National Federation of State High School Coaches named Mr. Mario Borrocci 2005 Baseball Coach of the Year for Michigan. Borrocci has been a baseball coach at Fraser High School since 1968. We thank Coach Borrocci for everything he has done for FHS and congratulations on winning this elite honor from his peers at the NFHS. Good job Coach Borrocci on striking out all the other coaches.
