Wandering through the
halls one might run into the
quite 18-year-old exchange
student, Chris Duronio, who
came from a city in Belgium
called La Louviere. Duronio
is staying here at Fraser for
the full year to get the full
experience of an all-American high school. The European high school education
system only runs through
grade 11. Even though he
has already graduated from
high school in La Louviere,
here in FHS Chris is still a
senior.
In Europe the kids have
more freedom to do as they
please with no age limits to
set them off at bars or dance
clubs, yet here in America
there are. With more restrictions and a need for a car to
get everywhere, this is quiet
the change for Duronio.
“It’s a good experience but
different here in America,”
said Duronio.
The hardest part for him is
being so far from his home
and family. Although he is
far from home, his family
managed to come to America
and surprise him for Halloween this year.
“Ohh
yeah I miss
my family,”

Duronio
joined the
FHS Varsity soccer
team this
past fall as
number 15.
He is number 15. Not
only did he
get to play
but he made
a lot of new
friends as
well.
“It was a great experience
to meet and play with Chris.
I learned a lot of sweet and
interesting things. He is a
cool guy,” says Junior Matt
Lesperance.
Chris is staying with his
aunt, uncle and cousins. His
cousin, sophomore, Elisa
Gatliff also goes to FHS.
Gatliff helps him with some
of the things he doesn’t understand including homework. After this year is over,
Duronio said that there is a
possibility he might come
back sometime after college.
“I have accepted him as a
brother. Before when I lived
there I would see him on
weekends but afte "vP
