AN AUTOMATION solutions provider par excellence , Singapore ’ s homegrown Konbini Vending Automation ( booth 4K1-05 ) provides services to a number of industries , including F & B , retail , industrial and healthcare .
The range of products that roll off the company ’ s production lines includes smart vending machines , automated lockers that are temperature-controlled for food delivery , self-payment kiosks that are both cashless and can accept cash , and cloud monitoring software .
“ Our smart vending machines can dispense heated , chilled , frozen and microwavable food , all from a single machine ,” says Konbini ’ s director Jing Quek , who is totally a hands-on man , and has been wearing a company apron while demonstrating his

products to interested visitors .
“ While the food is generally maintained in cold conditions within the machine , there is a microwave oven at the top that can heat food conveyed to it by an internal robot that then returns the food to the dispensing point for it to slide out of the delivery chute .
“ Of course , we have to ensure that no food packed in aluminium foil needs heating , since the microwave oven , as you know , cannot handle metal .”
Quek is also proud of the Cyklone branded self-payment kiosks that his company has designed and distributed all over the city-state . He claims the custom-designed kiosks have reduced cash handling by staff and prevented pilferage , since they have detailed cash reconciliation

and transaction tracking .
“ These high-speed , affordable kiosks come in three sizes , can dispense up to three bill denominations , and return change within 10 seconds ,” says Quek .
“ Cyklone has a robust inbuilt error-handling algorithm , and allows float and error tracking .
The company has offices in Singapore , Johor and Hanoi , and deals in hardware design and fabrication , software development and technology integration .
It also builds IoT-powered technology solutions to automate clients ’ operations and create new sales channels for their business .
Little wonder , then , that Konbini ’ s client list includes respected names like SATS , DBS , Food- Junction , Neo Group , Polar , SaladStop !, Lenovo , and Certis Cisco .

Could this be the most comfortable bed in the world ? Yes , says the Swedish company who created YouBed .
Are you ready for bed ?
A SWEDISH company is offering what it calls the “ world ’ s first ” bed that provides adjustable firmness without interfering with its comfort features .
The firmness of the mattress can be easily adjusted by using a hand controller , while users can apply their own personalisation by fine tuning different comfort zones of the bed — for example , shoulders and hips .
Mattias Sörensen , CEO and founder of YouBed , declares : “ This might sound too good to be true , but our innovation is so ground-breaking it will probably change the hotel industry at its core .
“ We claim that the adaptable YouBed is ‘ the world ’ s most comfortable hotel bed ’, which , to be honest , is an understatement .
“ The hotel industry is , after all , in the business of selling a good night ’ s sleep , and most important for a good night ’ s sleep is a comfortable bed .
“ With the adjustable YouBed , it will , for the first time ever , be
possible to offer every single hotel guest just that .”
In Europe , the one-bed-fitsall innovation has already been installed by Mövenpick Hotel & Resort in all of their European hotels .
YouBed was also recently launched in the Middle East , where the innovation has already been referred to as one of this year ’ s “ most anticipated launches ”.
After these successful launches , YouBed is now set to expand into new markets , where Singapore is among the first countries in line .
Business Sweden ( The Swedish Trade & Invest Council ) has identified YouBed as a prioritised trade interest and will support the company in finding the most suitable hotel brand to introduce the innovation in Singapore .
