UK Pavilion showcasing quality & heritage
THE UK is displaying a strong national pavilion at FHA2018 as it sees more than 30 UK companies all looking to grow their international business, particularly across South-east Asia. The UK is renowned for its excellent food and drink, with an established reputation as a land of quality, reliability and transparency. These companies will be exhibiting at halls 7 and 9, booths 7E2-01 / 9C4-01 / 9C4-02 / 9C4-05 / 9C4-06 / 9C4-07 / 9C4-08 / 9C4-10 / 9C4- 12 / 9D4-01 and 9D4-06.
Leading the UK participation at FHA2018 is the Food & Drink Exporters Association( FDEA), which represents UK companies both to the international buying community and the UK government. A‘ not-for-profit’ trade association, the FDEA is a membership organisation run by experienced exporters. FDEA, along with its event delivery partner PS8 Ltd, organises UK pavilions at international trade shows.
“ The UK presence at FHA2018 has an impressive showing of companies in the confectionery, dairy, grocery and snack sectors, artisan drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well as organic products. UK manufacturers have a tremendous reputation for quality which is reflected in the vast range of premium and value products across the pavilion,” says Sandra Sullivan MBE, director PS8 Ltd and FDEA.
FDEA members include many well-known brands, who are already well established in exports, through to smaller companies looking to take their first steps into export.
UK Pavilion highlights Alongside major exporters such as Premier Exports, which offers an extensive range of grocery and drink products, visitors to the UK Pavilion will be able to meet exciting first-time exhibitors including Free’ ist, a sugar free / no added sugar brand that has a range of tasty snacks including popcorns, chocolates and cookies, Yew Tree Dairy, a manufacturer of dairy products including milk powders, concentrates, liquid milk and cream, and Nashville Food Group, who is exhibiting quality jams and spreads specifically designed and tailored for the hospitality industry.
Dairy producers also feature strongly in the pavilion with AHDB British Dairy, Somerdale International, Yew Tree Dairy, Lactalis, Wensleydale, Lye Cross Farm and Freshways Dairystix showcasing the best of British cheese, cream, butter and UHT long-life milk products, as well as Cornish clotted cream from AE Roddas.
Non-alcoholic drinks are also showcased prominently with artisan cordials and presses from Belvoir Fruit Farms, speciality juices and mixers from Folkington’ s, coconut water drinks and health snacks from CocoMojo, and the Happy Monkey range of children’ s smoothies and milk shake drinks joining Devonshire Dairy with a selection of milk shakes and fruit drinks for children.
Alcoholic drinks are represented by Northern Ireland-based whiskey producer The Quiet Man Distillery.

Heavenly Kids Organic is presenting a range of guilt-free organic baby weening meals and snacks, while Karimix unlocks eclectic fusion and heritage flavours by offering a range of sauces, marinades, pastes and dressings, all made in the UK.
Gryphon Tea to tempt with a café and blending bar
At Le Jardin Café, visitors are invited to sample the best-selling and latest tea products from three brands— Gryphon Tea, ROJI( pictured) and sister company Pryce Tea.
Gryphon Tea Company is showcasing its new tea products to tempt tea drinkers’ palate at FHA2018. Headed by Singaporean Master Blender Lim Tian Wee, Gryphon Tea’ s exhibition at booth 2N3-15 this year is featuring Le Jardin Café and Monogram tea blending bar.
“ In an increasingly crowded F & B industry, our foodservice customers are finding it hard to differentiate themselves from one another,” Lim explains.“ With Le Jardin Café, we wanted to show trade visitors various applications that are possible with our new teas. Like going to an IKEA store, you see the products in action. So, we hope our café can inspire them to spruce up their menus.”
Meanwhile, emerging as Gryphon Tea Company’ s luxury flagship brand, Monogram
UF International is a UK manufacturer and export distributor of UK food and drink brands to international markets, while Kettyle Foods will be highlighting its range of Dry-aged beef, Lough Erne Lamb, Fermanagh Free Range Chicken, Fermanagh Bacon and Rose Veal.
UK regional governments are represented by Scottish Development International, who is showcasing a range of Scottish food and drink products, and Invest Northern Ireland, who is giving the regional identity adopted by six food companies showcasing their products at FHA2018.
“ UK companies continue to be very positive about their sales to international markets. It is particularly encouraging at this time of change that exports are still growing in our top EU markets and that new markets in Asia are gaining traction.
“ Our challenge is to ensure that exporters have the confidence to develop markets closer to home, the skills and knowledge to explore the important but often complex markets farther afield and to create real meet the buyer opportunities through shows such as FHA,” Sullivan adds.

At the tea blending bar, visitors are invited to customise their personal blend through a multi-sensorial station. Lim explains:“ Visitors are encouraged to see, touch and smell the teas. That is the Monogram tea experience. And because we all want something that is personal and unique to us, Monogram offers tea drinkers that immersive, personal and leisurely experience.”
Monogram’ s collection of 12 fine-quality teas features unusual ingredients such as orange blossom, shiso, saffron and bamboo leaves, creating endless possible fresh pairings in the customisation experience.
