HERE are the winning products of the inaugural SCI Equipment Awards which are on display at Hotel Asia( a part of FHA2018) on Level 6 of Suntec Singapore. Jointly organised by UBM and Food service Consultants Society International( FCSI) Asia Pacific Division, the award recognises manufacturers who have incorporated sustainability, cost savings and innovations in their foodservice solutions.

n Champion: Heavy Equipment— Granule Gastro / pot and pan washing machine from Granul disk Granuldisk pot washing machines are a Swedish innovation that have been on the international market for nearly 30 years. The machines use PowerGranules, water and a small amount of detergent to mechanically scrub pots and pans. The blasting power, combined with high temperatures, washes the pots hygienically clean in a matter of minutes, using up to 90 % less water, energy and chemicals than any other pot washing methods. n First Runner Up: Heavy Equipment— Aircell & Crivat Integral Refrigerated Grab & Go Cabinet from Adande Refrigeration When award-winning Adande developed its patented‘ Hold the Cold’ technology, it was hailed as the first significant innovation in refrigeration for more than 70 years. n Champion: Light Equipment— M-iClean H hood-type machine from Meiko Maschinenbau Meiko offers a broad array of clean solutions ranging from glasswashers to sophisticated ware-washing systems with conveyor and automation technology. This year, Meiko is presenting a completely new constructed hood-type machine. The company says it keeps an eye

n First Runner Up: Light Equipment— BeViLaNatura hot and cold drink dispensers from Zerica Zerica at booth H4E1-11 is a global manufacturer and distributor of water coolers with more than 85 years’ experience providing chilled still and sparkling water. The company recently exploded in the drinks market with its groundbreaking touch-screen-operated and Internet-connected post-mix systems.

Other winners of the SCI Equipment Awards include: n Heavy Equipment award, two second Runner Ups: MKN( booth H4N3-01) for its FlexiChef; and Rational Cooking Systems( booth HQ2-01) for its SelfCooking- Center. n Light Equipment award, second runner up: OFFCAR The Great Cooking( booth H4F1-12) for its Superfry product.
