M a k e Did you always want to be a makeup artist? I’ve always had an interest in makeup. My Gran back in her heyday was a glamourpuss and wouldn’t leave the house without doing her makeup. So I was inspired from such a young age. My first memory with my Gran and makeup, is my Gran using pan stick foundation in the 80s (I’m so glad foundation has moved on from that). From my teenage years, I’d be doing my makeup everyday at school and spent most of my teenage school breaks in the loo using my Boots Number 17 makeup and applying my Rimmel Heather shimmer lipstick. Thankfully my knowledge and experience of lots of different products and brands has increased over the years. When I was off on maternity leave with my daughter, I firmed up my love for makeup by enrolling at a course with Glam Candy Makeup School and learning to become a makeup artist, one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. What’s your latest must-have beauty product? Difficult to answer as I don’t have one overall must have products! So will tell you my favourite brands for different beauty products. Urban Decay for eyeshadows. I couldn’t live without my naked palettes kit and life staple. I just haven’t found another brand that has shadows which have such a good pigment and have that all night long staying power.  If I have been out partying, my eye makeup will still look as good as the night before in the morning! MAC for cream blushers and foundations.  MAC Studio fix has excellent coverage and I love face & body because you can build and build and it will still feel light on the skin. Bobbi Brown & Shu Uemura for gel eyeliners great texture and consistency. Works fab with a brush and helps with the control when it’s applied - not messy and great staying power. Nars for finishing powder is much better than Mac. I have found it is light and a lovely fine dust. I also love a bit of high street too. Model: Sarah Currie Benefit for concealers: I couldn’t live without ‘erase paste’. It is a human photoshop! You literally erase blemishes on the skin. Rimmel for lipsticks and lipliners texture and staying power I’ve found are the best.  Laura Mercier for primer. I’ve used all brands and it’s my absolute favourite for texture. It’s light, the smell is gorgeous and it really works! Donna Monaghan MAke up Artist cover story
